Case Study - Superdrug : Career Development Programme
Client Issue
Further to an organisation wide succession plan, gaps were identified at senior levels within the business. In addition, 'at risk' employees were targeted as key personnel to be retained by the company, and a need was identified to develop the leadership talent and cascade a culture of empowering teams for the future.
Solution
Further to a series of assessment centres, a core population of Area Managers were identified to participate in a twelve month programme. The programme commenced with a two day development centre where participants were taken through a series of diagnostic exercises, the outcomes of which generated Personal Development Plans for each delegate and these also dove tailed into the needs of the programme. The delegates were integral to deciding the content of activities of the twelve month programme.

By the end of the programme, a third of delegates were promoted. Overall leadership performance improved. The programme gained a reputation for being the stepping stone to career advancement and a pivotal reward and recognition tool for the organisation.
