Winning Ways For William Hill


William Hill has a good track record for developing and promoting from within. And their succession programme for aspiring District Operational Managers was a key part of this strategy.

However, up until 2011, this was all regionally led, which meant that the implementation and quality varied from region to region. In 2012 they asked us to design and facilitate a national 12-month, leadership development programme, ‘Taking The Lead’.

The programme has exceeded all William Hill’s expectations. It has provided an abundant pool of homegrown leadership talent that has helped them fill the role of District Operational Manager and provided leadership in other parts of the organisation such as International, Compliance, Machines, HR and Projects.

The Taking the Lead programme is still going strong, which is a testament to the original programme’s success.
